Access to Mobility Aids
In addition to the water crisis, Pakistan is also facing a dire situation when it comes to access to mobility aids such as wheelchairs. Many people, particularly the elderly and those with disabilities, are unable to afford the cost of a wheelchair, and with no free healthcare service in the country, this leaves a significant portion of the population without access to this basic essential.
According to statistics, around 2.5 million people in Pakistan are estimated to be living with a physical disability, and without a wheelchair, they are unable to participate in daily activities or access basic services such as education and healthcare. This lack of mobility also places a significant burden on their families, who are forced to carry them or push them in make shift wheelbarrows, further exacerbating their own physical strain.
Providing wheelchairs to those in need
Recognizing this urgent need, Rise Support has allocated funds to help provide wheelchairs to those in need in Pakistan. While this has made a difference in the lives of many, there are still millions of people throughout the country who are in need of this basic essential but do not have it.
Your donation can help us provide mobility and independence to people who would otherwise be confined to their homes, unable to participate in daily life. With your support, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who are currently facing this challenge.
